PMI, On The Move
The building has been chosen, the lease signed, and construction is underway. It’s official: PMI is moving. We’ll close the doors to the First Avenue building we’ve worked in for 24 years, but won’t be traveling too far. Beginning late this year PMI will call the Buhl Building on Fifth Avenue “home”…and before long, we hope you’ll think of it as the PMI Building.
Originally completed in 1913, it was bought by Henry Buhl, Jr. of Boggs & Buhl Department Store (and the Buhl Foundation) from Franklin Nicola, the developer of Schenley Farms. The distinctive large windows and blue and cream terra cotta ornaments stood out among the granite buildings that dotted Pittsburgh’s avenues of the time. Unfortunately, in the 1940’s, the building’s first floor had been “renovated” to look like its granite counterparts. Now, thanks to N&P Properties LLC, who bought the six-story building in 2007, the building is being restored to its original glory as part of the ongoing Market Square revitalization project.
PMI will occupy a portion of the first floor, the entire second, third and sixth floors as well as a mezzanine level, with a conference room, dressing areas and green room for the studio. The new 19,000 sq. ft. facility will boast many of the same amenities clients have come to know and love at PMI, plus a rooftop deck overlooking Market Square. We’re sure you’ll find the new digs fabulous, but there’s always room for improvement! If you have any suggestions for the new facility to make it more user-friendly – after all, you’re the User-in-Chief -- please send us an email to Suggestions@PMIDigital.com and we’ll try to incorporate your ideas into our plans.
And thanks for your support during this exciting time!

CONSOL Energy Breakfast Briefing
Join Nicholas Deluliis, Executive Vice President and COO of CONSOL Energy Inc., as he provides an overview of the company and the unique perspective of an organization that produces both coal and natural gas. One of Fortune magazine’s most admired companies, CONSOL Energy is the leading producer of high-BTU bituminous coal in the United States, as well as the leading producer of natural gas in the Appalachian Basin.
CONSOL Energy also maintains the most extensive private research and development facility in the industry, devoted to innovative coal and energy utilization and production.
During this seminar, Mr. Deluliis will explain ways in which the company is working to make clean coal a reality, and how CONSOL factors into the ongoing debate regarding current cap and trade legislation. Finally, Mr. Deluliis will touch on a subject that concerns every company: employee safety. Using state-of-the-art technology to improve safety, CONSOL’s record is two times better than the national average of similar companies, but still it strives to meet its own stringent standards.
This breakfast briefing, sponsored by Dickie McCamey, will take place on Thursday, January 28th at the Rivers Club. Registration, networking and coffee will begin at 7:00 a.m., while breakfast and the seminar will begin at 8:00. Cost for PTC members is $40 and $175 for non-members.
